Dear Newser Reader,
Just like Mom and Dad, Newser loves all our readers equally. But we've decided to shed a little extra affection on those who register, so as of yesterday, we have made it easier to do so. And here's the good news: You're already a registered user! So no need for you to sign up again. But you still get to reap the benefits of these changes: - A faster Newser: We're always looking for ways to make your Newser experience a faster, better one, and minimizing cookie use will help us do that. By making our custom settings (like our hard-soft slider and the 'mark stories I've read' feature) available by registration only, our speed will improve.
- Sweet social connections: You can now manage the way Newser links to your Twitter or Facebook accounts in our Social Connections area (to get there, click "My Account" in the upper right, then "Account" then "Social Connections"). There, you can adjust your sharing preference; for instance, you can opt to autoshare some of your Newser activity (like NBU stories you've written or stories you've voted on) with your Facebook friends or Twitter followers.
- Better commenting: Because of some difficulties we've had associating Newser and Disqus accounts for commenting, readers will now need to be registered on Newser in order to comment. While we will still use the Disqus system, your Newser comments will not show up on your Disqus profilebut you can see them all in your Newser profile.
As always, feedback is welcome on our Facebook page or by email.
Happy Sharing!
