Dear USO Supporter --
As global unrest continues to grow to historic levels, let's take a moment to reflect on these truly remarkable times for the United States military.
While many focus on politics and the economy, our troops on the front lines seem almost to be forgotten. Meanwhile these brave men and women remain dedicated, professional, and committed to preserving our freedom without asking anything in return.
As we prepare to honor our Veterans and current members of the Armed Forces this Memorial Day, I hope that YOU will stand with the USO and let our troops know they're not forgotten. An act as simple as flying "Old Glory" will let your friends and neighbors know that YOU support our troops and YOU have their back.
That's why the USO is proud to offer a FREE 3-foot by 5-foot American flag with any donation of $30 or more. A brand new "MADE IN THE USA" American Flag that you can proudly display in time for Memorial Day and the 4th of July.
Many of our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are on their third (or even fourth) tour. Many are in the National Guard and Reserve, called to active duty...their families left to cope without a father, or a mother, or in some cases both.
That's where the USO comes in. So, for as long as they must remain in harm's way, keeping our shores safe, we have a mission: To show our soldiers and their families around the world that Americans still support them.
As a former Army officer, I can tell you firsthand that USO programs make an enormous impact on the lives of our troops and their families. That's why I'm writing you today, because we need Americans like you to help us deliver these critical, morale-boosting services to our troops all over the globe, as well as to their families here at home.
And don't forget as a special "thank you" for your gift of $30 in support of our troops, we'll send you, free of charge, a 3-foot by 5-foot American flag that was made in the USA.
Thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Sloan Gibson
President and CEO, USO
