Easley enters plea to felony campaign finance charge

Mike Easley, North Carolina's governor from 2001 to 2009, became a convicted felon today when he entered a plea to violating state campaign finance laws.

INCHEON, South Korea (Reuters) - North Korea fired scores of artillery shells at a South Korean island on Tuesday, killing two soldiers, in one of the heaviest attacks on its neighbor since the Korean War ended in 1953.

GREYMOUTH, New Zealand (Reuters) - Hopes of finding 29 men trapped in a New Zealand mine alive were rapidly fading on Tuesday, with footage of the blast at the mine four days ago showing debris flung out of the shaft like a bullet from a gun.
