TONIGHT ON THE CBS EVENING NEWS

Here's a look at what we are working on for tonight's broadcast of The CBS Evening News from Anchor and Managing Editor, Katie Couric:

Hi everyone,

Nearly five months after the disaster in the Gulf, BP is out with its version of what went wrong. The company released an internal report in which it takes some of the blame for the explosion and fire that killed 11 oil workers and led to the worst oil disaster in U.S. history. However, BP also points the finger at several of its contractors, including Transocean and Haliburton. Its report says "no single factor caused the Macondo well tragedy, but rather a sequence of failures involving several different parties." CBS News Correspondent, Mark Strassmann, who's been covering the disaster since April, has more tonight.

We're also following the Kuran controversy: Pastor Terry Jones came under increasing pressure today to drop his plan to burn copies of the Muslim holy book on Saturday, the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Today, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Vatican came out against his plan. So far, though, Jones still intends to carry out his plan. CBS News Correspondent, Kelly Cobiella has the latest.

President Obama is in Ohio today to formally announce his proposal to grant tax exemptions to businesses. The President is also coming out against extending the Bush-era tax cuts for high income earners. Mr. Obama's coming under increasing attack from the right. House Republican leader John Boehner called him out of touch with the American public.

Ever wonder what it's like to be attacked by a grizzly bear? You'll meet a woman who survived an attack--just outside Yellowstone Park. As CBS News Correspondent John Blackstone reports, there are more bears and more people in Yellowstone these days--a dangerous combination.

Our final story concerns men on the dance floor.; Which moves really get the ladies' attention? British researchers think they've found the answer; they used all sorts of computer models and brought in women to rate the moves. Not to spoil CBS News Correspondent Richard Schlesinger's story, but let me just say guys do much better if they move their whole bodies--not just the arms.

See you tonight. Katie

Here's an early look at one of the stories we are working on for Thursday night's broadcast of The CBS Evening News: As America prepares to Stand up to Cancer (SU2C) , Katie Couric will report on new research techniques that will hopefully provide new treatments for Pancreatic Cancer. You'll meet Dream Team leaders, funded by the monies raised by SU2C two years agao and you'll get an inside look at the cutting edge research these scientists are involved in that will hopefully provide answers and a cure, not just for pancreatic cancer but, for all forms of this deadly disease. That story and much more Thursday night, only on The CBS Evening News, LIVE from Los Angeles.

In addition to the day's top headlines, here's an early look at some of the stories we are working on for tomorrow morning's broadcast:

An Early Show exclusive you won't want to miss. Just days after a woman in Vancouver, Washington, was the victim of an acid attack at the hands of a female assailant, another woman, this time in Mesa, Arizona, fell prey to the same strange assault. Derri Velarde, a gym employee and mother of 5, had just gotten out of her car when she noticed a woman, approaching her from behind with what appeared to be a glass of water. The woman tossed the liquid and Derri immediately felt a burning sensation -- fortunately she closed her eyes before the liquid hit her face. As with the incident in Washington, police have no suspect. You'll hear first hand tomorrow morning about the harrowing incident from Derri herself. She'll tell you how it felt; how she is dealing with the injuries and how her kids are coping in the aftermath of this frightening experience.

It is no longer a mystery. . .the news is out and British journalist Piers Morgan will replace Larry King -- a job that was coveted by many journalists. King's will be tough shoes to fill and no matter how good Morgan is, the critics will be out in force. So what's his strategy to combat any comparisons? In an Early Show exclusive Morgan will tell you what his plan is to combat any comparisons and come out of the gate running. You won't want to miss this!

If you're looking for a new job you can do at home, you may not want to turn to the internet for leads. Those ads that blare, "Work from Home!" may seem like credible job opportunities, but they're in most cases schemes to get your personal information and your money! Tomorrow morning, Debra Schigely, Author of the Go-Getter Girl's Guide: What You Want in Work and Life (and Look Great While You're at It) will tell you want you need to know before you go job hunting on the internet. She'll also give you valuable tips on how to land your dream job.

She was the most controversial housewife of all...or should we say ex-housewife? For two seasons, New Jersey's Danielle Staub was one of the most talked-about stars of the Real Housewives franchise -- and certainly the most notorious. But on Tuesday, Bravo announced that Staub won't be returning for a third season. Bravo says they fired her, but Danielle says she quit. You'll be able to make up your own mind tomorrow morning when Staub joins us in the studio. She'll tell you what it was really like to be on the reality TV show -- all of the dish and gossip -- and what she has cooking in the future.

We're down to the final four contestants this week at the Big Brother House, as two more houseguests prepare to go to the chopping block tonight. 24 year-old college student Hayden Moss is safe from evictions, as he was guaranteed a spot in the final three, but 22 year old hotel sales manager, Brittney Haynes, and one other contestant are in jeopardy of being sent home. Be sure to tune-in to find out who stays and who goes, tonight on Big Brother at 8pm/ET/7pmCT on CBS. Also be sure to watch tomorrow morning, as The Early Show's, Julie Chen interviews the latest contestants to be sent home!
