BRAIN TEASER
Joe was out for a walk when it started to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?

TONIGHT ON THE CBS EVENING NEWS

Here's a look at what we are working on for tonight's broadcast of The CBS Evening News from Anchor and Managing Editor, Katie Couric:

Hi everyone,

One of the men at the center of the massive egg recall went before Congress today. Austin "Jack" DeCoster, 75, the owner of Wright County Egg, said he was "horrified" to hear that his eggs may have been involved in the salmonella outbreak that's been linked to more than 1,500 illnesses. CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes will have the latest, tonight.

An estimated 76 million Americans get sick from food-borne illnesses every year. Fifteen federal agencies spend more than $2 billion per year to enforce at least 30 different laws. The FDA recently put new testing rules in place and has stepped up inspections. But is all of this enough? CBS News Chief Investigative Correspondent Armen Keteyian looks at food safety in this country.

With the new health insurance standards taking effect tomorrow, some insurance companies have already figured out a way to get around one of the new rules. Since they're no longer allowed to drop coverage for children with pre-existing conditions, some insurers have decided to stop offering the new child only plan altogether. CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson will have that report tonight.

We end tonight with a story about one woman's mission to get her entire hometown to lose weight. In the past year, the city of Vicksburg, Mississippi has lost a combined 15,000 pounds. How'd they do that? CBS News Correspondent Kelly Cobiella will introduce you to Linda Fondren in tonight's "American Spirit."

See you tonight. Katie

How do we measure the star power of a celebrity in 2010? These days it's by the number of fans who follow them on Twitter -- a micro blogging website that has revolutionized the way we share information and talk about what's hot and up-and-coming. The website now has more than 100 million accounts, and superstars like Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga are taking full advantage of reaching millions of their twitter followers. "Tweeting" allows celebrities get their message out -- raw and uncensored by managers and publicists -- to fans who love to have an inside look at what their favorite stars are doing all day. Is it a win-win situation for celebrities and fans? Find out tomorrow morning as we give you a first-hand look at the new celebrity Twitter phenomenon.
